Procedures - Stroke and the Heart

Stroke may be due to a variety of causes some of which are due to the heart and circulation. In hypertension there may be bleeds in the brain. Blood clot may arise in the heart and travel to the brain. The majority occur in the left atrial appendage or via the PFO. I perform the majority of my procedures on the left atrial appendage and patent foramen ovale to prevent recurrent stroke. I have wide expertise in the area of stroke in the heart and run a well received training course each November.
